Support a current Partner State

Is your state already participating on our programs?  Many states are looking for volunteers who can help with:

  • Recruiting, vetting, and preparing host families
  • Planning and facilitating orientations
  • Supporting students and host families during the exchange

Contact your state coordinator to see how you can support their programming.

Becoming a Partner State

Reach out to explore how your state can partner with States’ 4‑H International Exchange Programs and open the door to life‑changing global experiences for youth.

Before getting started, keep these points in mind:

  • Partnerships are established only through state 4‑H Youth Development Offices.
  • Program administrators may be paid staff or volunteers, but the official partnership requires a Memorandum of Agreement signed by the state’s 4‑H Program Leader.
  • The first step toward partnership is a commitment to host a delegation of 12 Japanese youth and 1 adult chaperone for next summer’s month‑long exchange program.

Become an International Partner

Partnering with States’ 4-H International Exchange Programs provides access to the largest youth development organization in the United States. While we primarily collaborate within the global 4-H network, we recognize that some countries may not have established 4-H clubs. In these cases, we are open to working with other youth development organizations that share similar missions and values.
